Stressed Out? - Psalm 92-100

Listen to Psalm 92-100

Insight Into Scripture
Good Morning! Wow, I do not know if the rest of the country is hot, but it was very warm here (Seattle, Washington) If you live back east..... it is headed your way.Below is a short Psalm of thanksgiving to the LORD. Remember, do not read or listen to this Psalm, sing or pray it to our LORD!

Psalm 1001 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Thought for the Day
Have you ever noticed that when GOD does some work in your heart, it is never just one thing. For me it seems to always be a series of events or heart changes. This past week has been a tough one for me. Plus, when you are going through these adjustments, does not satan always seem to do his work too. He tries to get you down and feeling discouraged about yourself.
I am somewhat of a work-a-holic. For me (maybe you can identify with me) I feel that I need to get certain things done for the day. I feel that if I do not make progress with work in someway, I will not provide for my family and we will not make enough money to support us. (Did you notice how many times I said I?) S
ometimes "Life" happens and we do not get enough work done, this stresses me out. I become focused and the stress seems to keep building and building up. I become a jerk to Kimmy, and not much fun to be around with anyone. My focus turns from GOD to me and what I need to accomplish. If you think about this, my problem is that I am not trusting GOD to provide for my needs.
There are two thoughts that I would like to make. Today, The Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me these things.
He reminded me of how Jesus fed the 5,000. How many fish and bread did Jesus start out with? Matthew 14:16-17 Jesus had 5 loaves and 2 fish, and He fed ALL those people, WOW. The point that The Holy Spirit was making to me, is that Jesus does not need much from me to provide for me and my family. He does not need me to work tons of hours and enter tons of items. He will provide for me with very little.
So, if you are in your life and you are stressed about making it, and you are working more and more and more, Jesus will provide for you, put your priority on Him and have the faith that He will come through. Read Matthew 6:25-34 I LOVE this passage!
The other thought that I had, if you become as stressed out as I was. Take some time off, refocus with your family and GOD. You will be amazed what a difference it makes, and do not be surprised if while you are resting in the LORD and your family, GOD is still working for you and providing for you.
I did this today and spent some time with Kimmy, I could feel myself clam down and refocus on HIM! - I hope that you have a Blessed Day! - Jim

Bible Trivia:

Complete this sentence:
Jesus said that "with GOD all things are..............."

ANSWER: Possible

Matthew 19:26
26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Many a person has tried to find any other way to SALVATION for many a reason. One way that is so evident is when man lives by his GOOD WORKS, (Ephesians 2:9) is Gods answer to this. Then man has been tricked into thinking that use of money for God, will allow him to dable in the World. For the rich to think that salvation can be bought or recieved through works only leads to feeling prideful and wanting recognition for all they do. This is why it is impossible for man to find salvation in the ways of the world. For the rich to be saved is hard but not by God's design yet it is not impossible, WITH GOD it is POSSIBLE. I read this and it fits here: one should be saved IN their worldliness and remain not, but they should be saved from the wordliness. The beginning, progression, and perfection, of salvation, depend entirely upon the power of God, to which all things are possible.

We can see application of this scripture in many many other areas of life not just with the rich, I have had the priveledge in life to have association with pros in football, and BASS fishing. Many professing Christ, but as time spent with them it became apparent those that only professed for their personal gain and those that were genuine in their Life for Christ. We all know that the things of the world are all around people in this area, drugs, alcohol, women virtually anything the world has to offer to distract one from a life that honours God in all things. I saw many a good man return to a life of total sin and deprevation because they thought they could stay around all this and have a successful life of salvation. Their fear of not continuing having the fame and acknowledgement kept them from Salvation. They forgot about God and His POWER and what He could bring to them for their life being completly yeilded to HIM. Those others that lead a successful Christian life in his areana always separated themselves from the wordly aspects of that life. You would never see them at the parties were the booze, drugs and women were for the taken. Their night life was so different that they had a home and it was shared with other of like faith after games or fish tournaments, you would never see them sponsor things that would bring dishonour to their profession of Faith.
Like salvation Faith can only comes by His power (Ephesians 1:19), and is kept by it, 1 Peter 1:5.

I will give a true happening here of just the past 3 years. A Christian friend of ours that is a BASS fisherman and won the very first Elite 50 tournament, was approached by a leading tobacco company wanting to sponsor him. This would have meant much needed money, but He made a choice with no hesitation not to accept this offer. He felt that he could not in good conscience have their name connected with him and profess a walk for Christ. Now for those that maybe does not realize fishing Pro Circuit having major indorsements makes up a large part of your income or furnishes you your Boat and many perks. Well if you could see what happened only the very next season. He recieved indorsement by a parts company and they now furnish him with a 30 + ft. motor home with a garage that will lift his boat and then his Surburman pulls under. He, his wife and two sons travel now all over U.S. as wife homeschools, IN STYLE. God knows how to give far above that of any of the world. I could go on with Jobs being turned down and see where those people are today even of a Lady that once owned several of Birminghams largest strip clubs, recieves Christ gives up the income and all the life that surrounds it. Family all now saved and Miracles happen all around I have even seen some former strippers come to Christ and now the transformation is so great you would never know their former life, but they left the world behind and did not dable. As for my friend that owned the clubs her and her husband 2 children and a niece are serving as Missionaries to Mexico now and seeing Miracles their.

Well I have said all this for who? I don't know. Was not said to say that the rich could not be saved. As you can see I know many but they abstain from all appearences of evil:

1 Peter 2:11
Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.

1 Thessalonians 5:22
22 Abstain from every form of evil.

1 Peter 2:11
11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

Remember no matter what you do in this world to lead a successful Chirstian walk you have to keep your eyes on God and not the things the world can offer. Whatever is being laid out their for a temptation to you if it does not bring Glory and Honour to God turn away and watch what God will do.

You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

Colossians 3:5
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.
