Are You Involved?

Insight Into the Scriptures
Revelation Chapter 10 starts with another vision that John sees. In chapter 10 we are still in the second woe, it does not end till verses 11:14. The message in chapter 10 is that this woe, is bitter, but will end.

Chapter 11 describes Jerusalem captured and the two witness' from God. These two witness' give the final warning before the last 7 plagues are to come.

Chapter 12 is very interesting. One cannot help to read this and envision the spiritual, unseen "Christmas Story" that is unfolding. If you do not read all the passages today, this chapter is a must read.

Chapter 13 tells of the anti christ. his rise to power and the warnings for the people still left.

As I read these chapters, I have read a lot of opinions of who this person is, when this will happen, what is the mark, and many more. While all these are very interesting, we can't lose sight of the message of Christ. Christ is returning, prepare, and prepare others so they can avoid this.

While we don't want to get wrapped up into the "Legal" issues of Revelation, it does serve as a time line. We really need one event to place us into the events of the end of the world. One example would be the capture of Jerusalem, once this were to happen you know where in Revelation we are.

"And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.

"Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."

"Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring—those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus."

Thought for the Day
As I have read these last chapters, one message has been coming across strong; get involved. This message comes at a perfect time. It is the new year, a time for new commitments. Maybe for you it is getting involved in a Bible Study or Growth Group, maybe it is making a commitment to read His word everyday, maybe it is to spend more one on one time with Him. Whatever it may be, go at it with baby steps. It is easy at this time of year to make these huge commitments. Make a commitment that pushes you, but does not overwhelm you.

Whether you want to be involved or not, you are. As it says in verse 12:17 if you love Jesus and obey His commands, satan will find you. he knows that his time here on earth is short, he is enraged, and is going to make war with you. So, the question remains, are you going to sit and take whatever the devil wishes to give you, or are you going to dig your heels in and make a stand.

I would really encourage you in the next couple of days to think what commitment you are going to make for yourself, so you can draw closer to Christ. If you wish, we can post your commitments on our Facebook Page of what you are going to do in the next year to draw closer to Jesus.

Closing Prayer
Dear Jesus,
You are so amazing and worth all of my praise and worship. Lord, I long to know You more deeply. Jesus I ask that You will speak to my heart what would be the best for us, You know me and my heart, I want to make a commitment to You this next year.
I love You Jesus, please show more of Yourself to me day by day.
In Your Amazing Name,
Amen
