As we continue with Revelation, John is transported into another vision. We had read about the six seals in the last chapters, here we read about the 7th seal and it is devastating. The 7th seal actually has 7 trumpets with 3 "Woes."
In chapter 9 John speaks of an Abyss with a locust type creature being released from it. From what I have read, in the past, God casted and chained fallen angels into this abyss, they are there today waiting to be released.
The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
Thought for the Day
As I read this today, I am afraid that there are not many encouraging words, Psalms of Praises.... it is the end of the world. But, as I am reading this, I cannot help but to see God's love and mercy for His people that He created. Let's face it, He has the power and choice to destroy everyone here on earth. He has been soooo patient and understanding ever since Adam and Eve.
I find verses 9:20-21 utterly amazing. After all of these incredibly destructive events take place, plus 1/3 of mankind are killed, they STILL do not repent, they stay with their sinful ways. Amazing. I checked the Earth's population tonight, and it was 6,973,738,433. So, if this event were to have taken place today over 2 trillion people would have died, and these people still stay in their sinful ways. Please double check me as that number is staggering.
When you read Revelation you can't help but to notice, that there is a major struggle between good and evil. There is no middle or neutral ground, you are either with God or against Him. If you are on God's side the numbers that will be lost to God and won to satan are heartbreaking. Their pain and suffering no-one (except satan) should have to endure.
In this spiritual battle that is raging on right now, where are you? Let me give you an example; say that you have a brother or sister who signed up to fight for the war that is going on right now. This solider, when they arrived in battle, really did not want to get involved, they wanted to be a solider, but really did not want to fight or die for unnecessary reasons. Many brothers and sisters were lost, as well as several battles, due to this person not wanting to get involved. So, the war ends and this solider comes home, they expect a solider's welcome with banners and parades, but they are not included in any celebration, the solider is home safe, but no metals or victory parties. Do they deserve one? What should be done to this solider?
My friends or should I say soldiers, You have chosen a side in the battle, what have you done in this war? Have many brothers and sisters fallen to the enemy due to your lack of not wanting to get involved?
Closing Prayer
Dear Jesus, Thank you for your patience and mercy with me. I know that I am a sinful creature and struggle with it daily. Thank you for loving me so much.
Jesus, I know that there is good and evil going on right now, I know that I have chosen your side, but I am afraid of getting involved, I really do not know how to get involved. Please Jesus show me the way, help me to become more effective in Your kingdom.
Lord, I pray for those people who are just lost, they do not understand, nor have felt Your love and presence. Please put that right person in their life to help them see the light and bring them home.
I love You Lord.
