Do People See Jesus In You?

Insight Into the Scriptures
Titus was written by Paul to Titus. Titus was written around 64AD. The purpose of this letter is to advise and instruct Titus in supervising the leaders and the Churches of Crete.

Today's Reading Titus 1-3

Today we read the short letter; Titus. In reading all of Paul's letters, have you enjoyed his beginnings? The start of Paul's letters are very well thought out. He is extremely humble, knowledgeable, and a true servant of Christ.

I believe that we have one more lesson from Paul, after reading his letters, beyond what Paul is teaching, what have you learned from Paul's character? We have read some very personal letters where you can truly get to know the writer.

Titus 3:1-2
"Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men."

Thought for the Day
Have you ever gone to a retreat, or maybe you have traveled to hear an amazing preacher. I have, and I know when I came away from that retreat, I was on a God High. But, then when I get back into my church, I come back down to my normal self, and maybe a little depressed knowing that "life" was again, back to normal.

This is what Paul was trying to do to the churches after he had left them. I'll bet while he was there it was amazing, but then Paul had to move on. What happened to the leaders and the body? Did they fall back into sin, lose the enthusiasm? or maybe just get bored? What kind of a witness are we, if we are bored or fall into sin?

As I have read Timothy and Titus one main message was clear. Beyond being "Religious" and "Holy" we are to be good people. If I were a non-believer in today's world, with all these religions claiming they are right, I think I would steer away from any religion. What I would be drawn to is a "Good " person. One who has a smile on their face, lets you cut in line at the grocery store, a person when you look at them, they have a look of peace, not stress city.

If you think for a minute, there are not too many people like that around, why? With all the Christians in the world we should stick out like a sore thumb. I would evaluate yourself this week, are you "Being Good" without talking any religion to anyone, can people see Christ in YOU?
