1 Samuel 14:24-16

Holy Week
This week I thought that we would honor Christ and prepare our hearts and minds for Resurrection Sunday. We will break away from our walk through the Bible, and follow Christ on His walk leading to the Cross.I would encourage you to keep walking through the Bible. We will leave the passage for today's Scripture on top.

Blessings~This is an Aerial photograph from the south of Mount Zion. On top of this Mount is believed to be the Upper Room. Jesus met with His disciples, broke bread, and drank from the cup. This would be their last meal together. If you would like to see a picture of the upper room, please click on the picture. The photo is taken from Bibleplaces.com.

Thought for the Day
This verse was always confusing to me, but, now after reading it many many times, I believe that I am starting to understand it.
The verse states; "Whatever you ask in My Name, this I will do, that the FATHER may be glorified in the Son." I always read; what I ask in Jesus name; it will be done, then I skipped over that part that states; what I ask for in prayer should glorify the FATHER through Jesus Christ. Pretty big miss huh?
Today, this verse kept on going around and around in my mind. Most of the things that I ask for in Jesus' name glorified me. Jesus, please give me more money. Jesus, please make the TV work again. Jesus, please let me get this promotion. I am sure you could insert your own "Jesus, please." Most of these prayers fall under the "Trust" and "Faith" category, not a "Glorify" category.
I believe that Jesus gave me an example of this yesterday. We have been moving into our new home for the past 2 days. Among other little annoyances, our brand new microwave was not heating. As I was working I could have sworn that I heard Jesus say "Pray for the microwave and it will be fixed." As I was going down to pray over it, my wife and I got into an argument (satan's attack) we both became angry and walked away. But, I was not going to let satan win, I went back down and prayed over the microwave. I rebuked satan, and asked that Jesus would repair the microwave to show His power. I ended, did not test it, and went to bed. I woke up and forgot about it, but, later in the day Kim told me that it was running again??? Hmmm.......
Looking back, I could care less whether the microwave was working, it was something I was going to have to deal with, but no big deal. Next time you are asking for something in prayer, does it glorify you or YAHWEH through Christ Jesus?

Closing Prayer
Dear Jesus
Thank you that we have such an open door with You. Thank You for Your gift of prayer that You allow us to have. May You be praised!
I love You and I pray in Your Name,
Amen

  1. Bible Trivia
Who paid Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus?

    Matthew 26:14-16
    14. Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the CHIEF PRIEST,

15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And THEY covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

    ANSWER:
The chief priests--reading vs. 14 you see Judas asked the chief priest and in vs. 15 THEY covenated

It is true that the chief priest gave the 30 pieces of silver but evryone that came before and after this are as quilty as Judas for the betrayal of Jesus. It might not be in the form of 30 piesce of silver but whatever it is that keeps us from walking in His will that becomes the 30 pieces of silver.

Kim and Jim. Hope the MOVE is going well. My thoughts and Prayers have gone to you much in the past couple of Days.
