Help God! I Am Stressed Out!

Help God I Am Stressed Out!

Whose life do you exemplify when the storm (Life) rages? Are you more like Paul or the sailors (Read the verses below)? Paul had a promise from God that all would be OK, his life was an example of the peace and security that only comes from Christ. Hurricane winds, a ship wreck, or a viper bitting him could not shake his faith. The sailors were "In constant suspense" ie. they were so stressed out they were not even eating!

Why do we become so stressed out and worried when life's storm rages? We have an entire book of promises from God, telling us that He will care for us and provide for us.

We have a hard time not being in control, we have to control the situation or we think it will not get done. It is easy to tell someone "Just give it to God." But, very hard to live like that day by day. What we are really telling God is that we do not think He could handle our problems, or we are unsure that we will like where God may place us during and after the storm. All of these are a lack of faith and lack of trust on our part.

If you are in a situation where your faith is being tested, keep telling yourself, God WILL come through, and He WILL take care of me. Lean on His promises! Everything that God has said and promised in His word has come true, so if He says He is going to take care of you, HE WILL! Here are some verses for encouragement.

Scripture
"But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed. Last night an angel of the God whose I am and whom I serve stood beside me and said, 'Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you.' So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me."

"Just before dawn Paul urged them all to eat. "For the last fourteen days," he said, "you have been in constant suspense and have gone without food—you haven't eaten anything. Now I urge you to take some food. You need it to survive. Not one of you will lose a single hair from his head."

"Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live." But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god."  Acts 27:22-25; 27:33-35; 28:3-6

My Life Is Out Of Control

My Life Is Out Of Control

My Life Is Out Of Control
As I was reading the verses below, I could not help to think how "In Control" GOD was. HE used Nebuchadnezzar, who was king of Babylon to capture HIS chosen people. I bet that Nebuchadnezzar had no idea that he was carrying out GOD's plan, it was most likely a desire that he had to capture Jerusalem.

GOD had even planned out how long Jerusalem would be under capture; 70 years. Then GOD would punish the Babylonians, the ones who HE put the desire to concur HIS people, for their guilt. GOD was controlling every step for as long as HE needed.

We need to remember that even when our lives feel out of control, and there is no way that GOD could know what we are going through; GOD does. GOD is in control every step of our lives, HE knows what we are going through. The trials that we are going through are preparing us for future events and helping us to grow in our faith. So, remember that everything, good or bad that happens in your life GOD knows and HE is in control.

Jeremiah 25:8-14
Therefore the LORD Almighty says this:"Because you have not listened to my words, I will summon all the peoples of the northand my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon," declares the LORD, "and I will bring themagainst this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them anobject of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin.I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp. 11 This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy
years. "But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians,  for their guilt," declares the LORD, "and will make it desolate forever. I will bring upon that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations. They themselves will be enslaved by many nations and great kings; I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands."

God Will Always Provide For You

God Will Always Provide For You!

God Will Always Provide For You
Have you ever noticed that when GOD does some work in your heart, it is never just one thing. For me it seems to always be a series of events or heart changes. This past week has been a tough one for me. Plus, when you are going through these adjustments, does not satan always seem to do his work too. He tries to get you down and feeling discouraged about yourself.

I am somewhat of a work-a-holic. For me (maybe you can identify with me) I feel that I need to get certain things done for the day. I feel that if I do not make progress with work in someway, I will not provide for my family and we will not make enough money to support us. (Did you notice how many times I said I?)

Sometimes "Life" happens and we do not get enough work done, this stresses
Follow Us On Pintrest
me out. I become focused and the stress seems to keep building and building up. I become a jerk to Kimmy, and not much fun to be around with anyone. My focus turns from GOD to me and what I need to accomplish. If you think about this, my problem is that I am not trusting GOD to provide for my needs.

There are two thoughts that I would like to make. Today, The Holy Spirit spoke to me and told me these things.

He reminded me of how Jesus fed the 5,000. How many fish and bread did Jesus start out with? Matthew 14:16-17 Jesus had 5 loaves and 2 fish, and He fed ALL those people, WOW. The point that The Holy Spirit was making to me, is that Jesus does not need much from me to provide for me and my family. He does not need me to work tons of hours and enter tons of items. He will provide for me with very little.

So, if you are in your life and you are stressed about making it, and you are working more and more and more, Jesus will provide for you, put your priority on Him and have the faith that He will come through. Read Matthew 6:25-34 I LOVE this passage!

The other thought that I had, if you become as stressed out as I was. Take some time off, refocus with your family and GOD. You will be amazed what a difference it makes, and do not be surprised if while you are resting in the LORD and your family, GOD is still working for you and providing for you.

I did this today and spent some time with Kimmy, I could feel myself clam down and refocus on HIM!

Is Jesus a Priority In Your Life?

Insight Into the Scriptures Leviticus 7-8
When making sacrifices, the fat part they are speaking about in the Bible is the layer of fat around the internal organs, it could be easily peeled off and is inedible. The ephod was the most important of Aaron's priestly garments. It was either a linen robe covering the upper body or a frontal piece attached to the shoulders and sashed to the waist.

Aaron and his sons could not leave the entrance to the Tent of Meetings for seven days. This was to protect them from any uncleanness that they might encounter by leaving.

Think & Grow
Today, I thought that I would share with you something that just recently happened to me. My wife runs a little business and God was blessing her work. She was becoming busier and busier. As this was happening, guess what she started to do? Her "Jesus time" started to become less and less, She kept putting priority on her work (Which He actually was blessing) and spending less and less time with Jesus. Finally, after a couple of weeks she was feeling very disconnected with Christ, and I was wondering why?

Right away, she made time for Jesus whether she felt that she had it or not. There were some days that she did not think everything was going to get done, but it did. And, actually our little business continued to be blessed by God. One interesting point was that as soon as she started to make time for Him again, her feeling of being close to Him did not improve right away, it took maybe a week or so.

Jesus has to take priority in your life. It is not easy to do with "Life" coming at you every day and sometimes every hour. It is something that you are going to have to work on. If you start your day and tell yourself that I will spend time with Jesus later on in the day, chances are it will never happen, plus you have the enemy that will throw anything in your path to distract you. Make an appointment for Jesus, just as you would any other person, and stick to it. If you are on a wonderful routine, fight hard to never let anything come in between that time, Jesus will honor your commitment!

Closing Prayer
My Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the awesome time I have everyday to spend with. To breath in every breath and think of You, is so wonderful and forfilling. I pray Father that I can keep my appointment with You everyday. Help me to stop and remember how good it feels to spend that one on one time with You. Father I ray for all of those who are lost and seeking. I pray I hear the right words from You and know the moments that You are giving me. I love You!!
In Your Name I pray,
Amen

Are You Stressed Out Trying To Do It All?

Insight Into the Scriptures - Exodus 17-19
In verses 18:1-2 Jethro was the priest of ????. Most likely he was not a priest of the Yahweh. Proof might lie where he and Moses are talking, Jethro then recognizes Yahweh as greater than all other Gods (v 18:11)Moses and company reached Sinai three months after leaving Egypt around June. Consecration ones self would usually entail washing and avoiding things that would make them unclean.

In Chapter 19 notice how God is trying to set His people apart. God stepped up to the plate, showed Himself to the Israelites, fought fiercely for them. Now all He asks in return is to "Obey Me" and "Keep my Covenants". Seems pretty easy does it not?

Exodus 18:13-18
"The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening. When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, "What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?"Moses answered him, "Because the people come to me to seek God's will. Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of God's decrees and laws.
"Moses' father-in-law replied, "What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone."

Thought for the Day
Jethro is one wise man, isn't he? We really are not told much about Moses' Father-in-law. He comes to visit Moses and has some very wise words, then he went on his way, but he left Moses with some great boundaries and leadership advise. God wants to make a point very clear to us, He does not want you to do it ALL.

Whether you are serving in Church or activities you choose to be in. If you are stresses out, tired, discouraged, and losing interest, you are doing too much. God does not expect or want you to do it all. I know some people will use the excuse that they are doing the Lord's work, so they work themselves to the bone, get discouraged and fall into sin or become ineffective for Him. Living a life in Christ is living a life of Freedom, not chains.

Serving Christ is awesome and I think necessary, but you need to draw boundaries; yes, there is that word; boundaries. You need time for your family or friends, yourself, and God Time. One on One alone time. I would say to examine yourself to see if you are maxed out, but I bet you know in your heart if you are. Listen to your heart and Christ, live freely.

Closing Prayer
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for the fresh morning air you allow me to breathe, I am grateful that I am part of this beautiful earth You have made for us. Father help me to know my boundaries, help me to know my passion to help your kingdom and my boundaries to not do too much. I love you and know that without you I am nothing.
In Your Name,
Amen
