Are You Judging Other?

Romans 3:9-10, 23, 2:1-3, 2:11
"What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.As it is written:"There is no one righteous, not even one"

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

"You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment?"

"For God does not show favoritism."

Thought for the Day
As you are reading the text for today you will pick up that Paul is trying to break the walls of judging each other down. It is interesting that the problems they struggle with back then, we still struggle with today. Paul makes it pretty clear that we all sin the same, we all have the same God, and we are all working for the same purpose. So why then do we still judge each other?

Why do we feel the need to change other people to worship the way we do? Why is our way better then theirs? When you are in church and you see another person just standing there and not "getting" into worship, do you judge them as not being as holy as you?

Let me stop and say there is only one God, there is only one way to heaven, and there is only one Word of God that has all the answers to life in it. A person, according to the Word of God, that is sinning, is not a "bad" person. We should accept them with love. We should not judge the person, for we all have sinned, but judge the actions (sin) of that person.

Here is a good question. If you were in church and two gay men came into your church holding hands, what would be your reaction? Would you shun them and shake your head at them and make them feel unwelcome? Or would you be the first one over them to welcome them at the risk you yourself my be looked down upon by others. No sexual sin is greater than another. I can imagine there are a lot of people in church stuck in porn, affairs, and more. Why are they accepted and not 2 gay men. I thought that the church was the place for sinner to find Jesus?

I would encourage you to examine yourself. Do you find yourself judging people that are not like us or do not worship like we do?
