Are You Limiting God?

Insight Into the Scriptures
At this point in our readings, God is getting His people ready to enter into Canaan. He outlines it's borders to Moses.

After 40 years of wandering in the desert, God is ready to give to His children what He promised their ancestors; Canaan. God then divides the land and appoints leaders, one from each tribe. These men did not volunteer their services, God knew they were good and fair leaders. If you want to be used by God, He knows your heart and your intentions, if they are pure and you have an open mind, you are going to be used by God.

Scripture Reading Numbers 34:1- 13 Boundaries of the Land
1The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2"Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders), 3your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east. 4And your border shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it shall go on to Hazar- addar, and pass along to Azmon. 5And the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea.

6"For the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its[a] coast. This shall be your western border.

7"This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor. 8From Mount Hor you shall draw a line to Lebo-hamath, and the limit of the border shall be at Zedad. 9Then the border shall extend to Ziphron, and its limit shall be at Hazar- enan. This shall be your northern border.
10"You shall draw a line for your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham. 11And the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth on the east.

12And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limit shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land as defined by its borders all around."

13Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, "This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.

Thought for the Day
I have always had a dream of living by the Ocean, but I thought it was an unobtainable dream, their was no way I could afford or find it. (Notice how I said the word I). Anyway, Kim and I started looking for houses, and we shied away from the coastal cities thinking it was the impossible.

This situation of the Israelites not taking what was rightfully theirs stuck in my mind. So, we started looking on the Coast. When we started looking I did not put a limit on God, and in a way I was excited to see what He could/would do for us. To make a long story short, we found the perfect house, within minutes to the Ocean, plus God gave us the lot of land next to our house, something I was not expecting! We could tell this was God blessing us, our realtor who is a non believer was amazed, he stated this never happens. (He does not know my Jesus) :)

In the readings for today God is giving His children the Promised Land. The size of the land portrays God's generosity. But they only took 10% of what God gave them. Why would anyone only take 10% of what God gave them? There are a few reasons the Israelites missed out on God's blessings; Sin, disobedience, lack of faith, lack of trust, fear of the unknown.

I know that we miss out on God's blessings for us for some or all of the reasons listed above. God wants to give us more than we could ask or think of, but we limit our blessings. In your life, do not limit God, do not say to yourselves, "There is no way that it could ever happen". We are talking about God, here. Nothing is impossible with Him. Expect alot from God, try and open every door, some will never open, but there are going to be some that will open, and inside of that door will be more than you ever could expect. Never limit God, He knows no limits.

Closing Prayer
My Heavenly Father,
Thank You Father for all You do for me and those I watch around me. I see You working all over, not just in my life and that is so awesome to watch. Father I pray that You will help me to have a God sized vision, and the faith to know that You are more than capable. Thank You Father for giving me those things that I really don't deserve and not giving me the things I do.
I Love You!!
In Your Name I pray, Amen
