Isaiah 43-46

Moving into YOUR Blessing - Isaiah 43-46

Listen to Isaiah 43-46

Greetings! As we are moving onto the next chapters (42-44) tells of GOD's gracious redemption so that Israel might become HIS servant to the nations.Chapter 44 to 45 tells of how GOD is raising up Cyrus to be HIS deliverer. Then starting in chapter 46 we start to read where GOD in a series of oracles the actual fall of Babylon.

Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV"Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.

Thought for the Day
I really like this verse, don't you? Why do we have such a hard time not dwelling on the past and looking to the future? Maybe it is a lack of trust, we do not trust GOD that HE will take care of us? Maybe we are afraid of the future? Maybe, some of us do not want to move from the past? Whatever your hang up is, I know that we all could benefit from living this verse.

I know I have spent time dwelling on the past. The problem on dwelling on the past, is that you will not move forward into GOD's blessings. For me, I would feel terrible about my past sins, so satan would tell me what a bad person I was. You see satan loves to keep you in the past. he wants you to not forgive yourself, even though Jesus did ,the moment you asked for forgiveness for the sin.

GOD knows that we are sinful creatures, HE knows that we are going to screw up, that is why Christ paid the price for your sin. GOD wants you to move on. HE has such neat things planned for you, with blessings that would make your head spin. The problem in that is we can't forgive ourselves. The problem lies with us, we are the ones blocking our blessings. This is a tool that satan loves! DO NOT let him use that on you.

You are forgiven, learn from your past, and use your past to help others. Then look where GOD is moving. HE is always moving somewhere in your life. Sometimes it may be inches, sometimes you do all you can do to hang on, because HE is moving miles.

If you are stuck in a desert of your past right now, it is time to move on. GOD needs you to move on, HE has amazing things planned for you, but, if you are stuck in the past, HE cannot move you forward.

This is a great verse to remember and give to others when they are stuck. We all need to encourage each other, and love each other to the future. I hope that you have a blessed day! - Jim

Bible Trivia:

What event did Jesus use as an example to emphasize the need for repentance?

a) An earthquake in Jerusalem
b) A tower that collapse that killed eighteen people
c) An outbreak of the plague
d) The drowning of seven people in a boat accident

ANSWER: b) A tower that collapse that killed eighteen people

Luke 13:2-5
2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?

3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

AGRANNYS RAMBINGS:

Two examples of disaster are given by Jesus, that were well known in His day. One was an evil done by the hand of man, and the other was seemingly a natural disaster.

Our thoughts are usually that people are good or bad and God should allow good things to happen to good people and bad things to bad people. Jesus is showing that this thought is not His.

Jesus was not saying the Galileans were innocent but their guilt was not MORE than others.

He is letting it be known that repentance is required by ALL or they will still perish.

Jesus takes the question "why did this happen?" and turns it into "what does this mean to me?"

Here we are being reminded that death can happen at any time to anyone, so we should not ever put off repentance. Those who died in these two examples were not thinking their death would be that day, and we can also make the assumption that most of them were not ready.

There is a fact here that could be missed if we do not know that in these passage, Greek usage of the word REPENTANCE, has two different meanings. In Luke 13:5 it says UNLESS YOU REPENT - this is a ONCE AND FOR ALL. In Luke 13:3 UNLESS YOU REPENT- Is a CONTINUING repentance. Both of these are neccessary.

Closing, we will see that Jesus warning, that they must repent or perish, was fulfilled suddenly. A generation of citizens of Jerusalem who had not repented and turned to Jesus perished in the destruction of Jerusalem.

AGRANNYS P.S.

Even though it is not actually known what tower collapsed in the trivia passages, the collapse was SUDDEN.

In studying this I read about the reason for most towers being built were to be used to help in safety of the city, as a look out.

This started my mind to thinking that what was man putting more value in for their safety, that of which man built or in the one in which CREATED man. One was only temporal and one is EVERLASTING and loves us unconditionally, can I say WOW. Just possibly this tower falling has more lessons to learn than I first saw, hummmm!

Things that man ofter builds or creates becomes so important that it leads to their downfall and SUDDENLY.
I think maybe I should consider, that the sudden removals of others as warnings.

I read on and found in Luke 13:6-9 and Jesus is calling us to repent,
OR we will PERISH. This is the same Jesus that also says REPENT, and goes on to say the KINGDON OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND

Guess what I was reminded of here:

NO MAN KNOWS THIS HOUR OR DAY BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN IT JUST MEANS IT WILL BE

!!!!!!!!!!!!SUDDENLY!!!!!!!!!!!
