Have You Died To Christ Today?

1 Corinthians 15:9-10, 31
"For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them— yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.I die every day—I mean that, brothers—just as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord."

"I die every day—I mean that, brothers—just as surely as I glory over you in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Thought for the Day
In reading the first part of today's verses, I am impressed with Paul's attitude. I know that at the time Paul could not imagine the impact that he was going to have on the world. But, Paul's attitude is amazing, nothing mattered except Christ. Paul goes as far to say that he did not even deserve to be called an apostle. We all need more of Paul's humility. Everything we do and say should point to Christ.

The second part of today's verses, Paul states that he dies daily. When we are born we are 100% sinful creations. Babies are cute and amazing creations, but they are also 100% selfish and think of themselves. As we become "Followers" we start to die to the human self and become more sanctified.

This is what Paul is talking about, each day we should make it a point to let some of our old self go, and replace that old self with Jesus. If there is an area that you are too strong in, like anger, you should work on "Dying" to that anger each day and replacing it with Jesus' love. This is a process that might take you your entire life, but we need to kill off that old self to make room for Christ.
